117-LATEREM PATCHWORK COLLECTION
ICI LATEREM PATCHWORK COLLECTION

Bricks are one of the warmest, natural, manmade material in the world not only by their earth colors but also by warmness & cosiness they create in the spaces they are used.

Typical Victorian town houses of London, colossal, Byzantium cisterns of Istanbul or Roman baths of Ephesus are all amasing structures built on brick.

Hemp kilims are striking weavings and they are simple, coarse, archaic floor coverings mostly woven in and around central Anatolia (mainland, Asian part of modern Turkey, also named as Asia Minor historically), newest ones are 50 years old.

Inspired by random brick pattern, names as Laterem, meaning brick in Latin, ICI Laterem Patchwork Collection reinterprets the texture of warm material with antique hemp weavings of Anatolia.

While bringing together the warmness of brick texture and softness of hemp, zigzag style stitching of brick size hemp patches recalls pointing of brick walls on each unique patchwork.

With monochrome and polychrome options remarkable collection available in 22 colors mostly with pastel, mute tones still with a few dark and vivid ones.
